The Nemaha County Hospital is a 20-bed facility serviced by five family practitioners, a full nursing staff and visiting specialists and provides nursing, therapeutic, ancillary, imaging, surgical and outpatient services.
As stated in the hospital’s mission statement, Nemaha County Hospital strives to “...provide an integrated delivery system of medical care that includes maintaining medical facilities and providing coordinated services to promote the healing of the sick and injured: to promote wellness, education, preventative care and rehabilitation for the residents of Nemaha County and surrounding areas. Nemaha County Hospital will use current medical trends to provide quality health care to service the needs of, and promote health and healthy living for citizens of all ages.”
The hospital also offers clinics and visiting specialists for the areas of audiology, cardiology, ear/nose/throat, gastroenterology, general surgery, neurology, obstetrics/gynecology, oncology, orthopediology, ophthalmology, pulmonology, urology and vascular care.
Nemaha County Hospital has recently completed a remodeling and building project that better prepares it to serve the community for many years to come.
The renovation remodeled ten patient rooms and added new out-patient service areas. Technology was also added to provide more on-site testing. Nemaha County Hospital became the first state-designated Basic Level Trauma Center in the 22-county region of southeast Nebraska on May 1, 2006.
