When in Rome do as the Romans do, and when
in Auburn do as the Auburnites do. Here are a few of the ordinances
that keep the city appreciated by all:
• It is unlawful to throw or discard dirt, paper, grass,
or waste of any kind into the streets, alleys, or parks.
• On-street parking is prohibited without first obtaining
permission from the police department.
• Any person owning a dog or cat must get a license for
it. A veterinarian's proof of rabies vaccination is required.
• All dogs and cats, other than those upon the premises
of the owner, are required to be leashed or under the immediate
control of their owner at all times.
• It shall be unlawful for any person or persons to own,
keep, or harbor any unusual animal, unless such animals are registered.
• Use of fireproof trash burner or incinerator with a metal
screen of not larger than one-inch mesh is required.
All burning shall be done between 7 a.m. and 4 p.m.
Fires must be kept 20 feet away from any building.
• All sidewalks must be clear of winter snow or ice five
hours after snowfall ceases or by 8:30 a.m. the next day if it
ceases after dark.
• Trash disposal is mandatory for all residents of the City
of Auburn.
