The Auburn Board of Public Works office is located at 1600 O St. in Auburn. During office hours, call 274-4981 for information about the city’s utilities. After the normal business hours, call 274-3316.

Office and Payment Window Hours:
The office is open from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday to Friday, except holidays.
A drop box for payments is available 24 hours a day.
Handicap parking and wheelchair accessibility are services available on the west side of the main office building. To access these services, enter through the alley.
Contact the local office for electric, water and sanitary sewer services, electrical and plumbing inspections and assignment of new addresses in the Auburn zoning limits. BPW is a municipal utility system providing electric power to the city of Auburn, the villages of Brownville, Johnson and Nemaha, and rural areas in Johnson, Nemaha and Richardson counties.
City water: All usage except fire protection is metered. Meters are read monthly.
Wastewater department: BPW operates the wastewater system.

The 24-hour, toll-free customer service number is 1- 800-303-0752. You can use this number for billing questions, to sign up for service, for energy efficiency tips, or for general inquiries.
