Applejack Festival

Nebraska City is at its
finest during the apple harvest season. To promote the bountiful
crops produced at the local orchards, the Nebraska City Tourism
and AppleJack committee orchestrates a community-wide celebration
each September.
The 2005 AppleJack Festival is Sept. 17-18 and
includes several craft shows, a quilt show, barbeque, apple-pie baking
contest, parade, marching band contest, pancake feed and AppleJam Festival.
AppleJam provides free family fun and children’s
games and draws many to the afternoon of fun.
Area orchards invite visitors to celebrate the harvest
and some allow visitors to pick their own. All area orchards feature
products made from their locally-grown fruits.
Numerous activities are
held throughout the community and the AppleJack parade is the
largest of the year for Nebraska City, drawing crowds which include
many out-of-town guests.
