The
Otoe County Courthouse, located at 1021 Central Avenue
in the heart of Nebraska City, serves all residents of Otoe
County.
In 1864, the Otoe County
Courthouse was built and today stands as the oldest operating
public building in the state of Nebraska.Currently, efforts
are underway to renovate the building which facilitates almost
every facet of Otoe County business.
The Courthouse business
hours are Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. The

The Otoe County Commission
is the law- and policy-making body for Otoe County. Commissioners
are elected by their respective districts and hold regular
meetings every second and fourth Tuesday of the month. Meetings
begin at 8:30 a.m. in the commission chambers on the second
floor of the Otoe County Courthouse.
