Post Office

The U.S.
Postal Service’s current building at 508 Central Ave. was
erected in 1985. The post office lobby is open 24 hours a day. Services
available at the lobby include access to post office boxes, national
five-digit zip code book and stamp vending machines.
Service
window hours are 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Monday through Friday and
8 to 11 a.m. on Saturday. The service window also has retail products,
such as phone cards and packaging materials.
There are
seven blue collection boxes at locations throughout Nebraska City.
Locations are: Eighth Street and Central Avenue, Ninth Street
and Central Avenue, 10th Street and Central Avenue, Eighth Street
and First Corso, 11th Street and First Corso, city hall and the
post office. Mail is picked up at the blue collection boxes at
5 p.m. Monday through Friday. On Saturday, collection at the blue
boxes at the post office is at 12:30 p.m. and 1 p.m. at the other
locations.
Mail is
also picked up at the collection box east of the post office at
6:55 p.m., which is the latest something can be mailed and postmarked
for that day.
