Rescue Squad

The
Nebraska City Volunteer Rescue Squad is staffed by volunteers
with some paid shifts and is independently funded. In recent
years, the squad has averaged over 800 calls per year. The Dunbar
QRT recently joined the Nebraska City Rescue Squad in providing
up-to-date equipment for rural rescue and providing Nebraska City
with trained emergency technicians for rural calls. The squad
has four ambulance units.
Squad services include
a provisional paramedic squad with advanced life support capabilities,
transfers to specialty care in metropolitan areas and emergency
response in Nebraska City and the surrounding area. The squad
also provides CPR and first aid training to the public.
