Trolley

Clang,
clang, clang go the Nebraska City trolleys as they carry visitors
and residents to high-interest sites throughout the community.
Tom Funke,
a fourth-generation Nebraska City resident, manages the trolleys.
They start
their rounds at Tag’s One Stop at 1 p.m. and travel to Arby’s,
PJ’s at the Depot, the city parking lot on First Corso,
the Otoe Co. Bank, Arbor Lodge, Kimball Orchard, the Historic
Apple Barns, the Lied Center, Wildwood, Apple Inn, Norman’s
IGA and the Lewis and Clark Interpretive Center.
They run
three hourly routes from one to 4 p.m. every Saturday from Arbor
Day weekend through Dec. 18. The rates are $4 for seniors,
$2 for children and $5 for adults.
The trolley
can also be chartered for special occasions such as wedding parties,
reunions or tours for $125 an hour.
Plans are
currently underway to replace the two older trolleys with one
new one.
For more information about the trolleys, contact
the Nebraska City Chamber of Commerce at 873-6654 or Funke at 873-7488.
