Utilities
Nebraska
City Utilities is a municipal utility company that provides electricity,
natural gas, water and sewage service to the residents of Nebraska
City. To establish
a new account, potential customers may call 873-3353, stop by
the office at 100 Central Avenue, or log on to the web site at
www.nebraskacityutilities.com.
An application
for new service may be obtained on the web site. Potential customers
may also use the web site to make arrangements for service or
to ask questions.
A deposit
may be required for new service. A letter of credit from a new
customer’s last utility will serve to waive any deposit.
Letters of credit can be faxed to (402) 873-5397.
Should a
deposit be required, customers can expect to pay $70 to start
electric service, $80 for gas service and $20 for water service.
Trash pick-up
Allied Refuse
and Recycling provides trash hauling service in Nebraska City.
To set up a new account, customers can stop by the office at 2524
North 22nd Street or call 873-7795. Services offered include various
arrangements for trash pick up, as well as curb-side recycling
and yard waste removal. The transfer station, which is at the
same location, is open to the public. Residents can drop off items
such as appliances, tires and other items too large to be picked
up at the curb. Recyclables and yard waste may also be dropped
off there.
Region V
provides recycling for aluminum cans at 808 8th Corso in Nebraska
City. For information, call 873-3306.
Phone
Alltel is
the primary provider of Nebraska City’s residential and
business telephone service. To start phone service, potential
customers may stop by the office at 808 Central Avenue, or call
873-3311. In addition to basic phone service, Alltel offers a
number of calling features, such as caller ID, call waiting, call
forwarding, and last number redial, among others. Alltel is also
a provider for cellular phone service as well as Internet service.
Television
services
Time Warner
Cable offers cable television, digital cable and Internet services.
To establish a new account, call 873-9196 or drop by the office
at 512 Central Ave. Video Home Theater, 716 Central Ave., and
Sat Tech, 711 Central Avenue, provide satellite service. To establish
service, drop by one of the offices, or call 873-5220 for Video
Home Theater or 873-5157 for Sat Tech.
Cellular
phones
Cellular service can be obtained locally through
Alltel. To start service, potential customers may stop by the office
at 808 Central Avenue, or call 873-3311. SatTech can also register
