MAYOR'S WELCOME

As mayor I would like to take this opportunity to say hello to my friends and neighbors in Tecumseh.  Our community is the home of MBA Poultry, Smart Chicken Brand and the site of the Tecumseh State Correctional Institution.

The Tecumseh community residents have access to very good school systems, two outstanding medical practices, the state-of-the-art Johnson County Hospital, and the excellent care center and assisted living facilities of Belle Terrace and Ridgeview Towers for our senior citizens.  Our community also offers many different denominations of worship for you to choose from.

Tecumseh provides a strong and diverse business sector, including motels, fine restaurants, and retail and specialty shops that meet the needs of the surrounding communities and travelers.

Tecumseh will host a number of events in 2005 and 2006,  including the annual Home and Garden Show; Avenue of Flags in May, July, and November; Truck and Tractor Pulling Contest; annual Missouri Valley Jet Scramble at the Tecumseh Airport, featuring radio controlled jet aircraft (sanctioned by AMA); White Buffalo Extreme Bull Riding; Johnson County Fair and Autumnfest. We will also be celebrating our 150th birthday in 2006 with many special events including a class reunion.
Tecumseh is a strong and growing community in Southeast Nebraska.  The friendly community of Tecumseh invites you to come enjoy the good life in Southeast Nebraska by living in Tecumseh.
