POST OFFICE

The U.S. Postal Service in Tecumseh is at 484 Broadway.  The telephone number is 402-335-2007.  Randy Purdy is postmaster.

Window hours are 8-11:30 a.m.  and 12:30-4:30 p.m. Mondays-Fridays, and 8-10 a.m. Saturdays. The lobby is open for postal patrons 24 hours.

Services such as holding of mail and forwarding of mail are available on request.

Some postal-related items are available for sale, including padded bags, envelopes and boxes.

The Tecumseh post office was established on Jan. 29, 1857 and has been at its present location since the 1930s. Tecumseh is the site of the first rural delivery service in Nebraska. The state’s first rural carrier, Ben Buttum, began his route on Nov. 7, 1896.
