By Kirt Manion
Hamburg Reporter

Unbeaten district front runner Stanton scored 46 first quarter points and added 22 in the second frame on the way to a 74-7 win over the Hamburg football team  last Friday night.
Alex Whigham was the man of the night for Stanton.

After a three-and-out by Hamburg on its first offensive series, Whigham returned a punt to the Hamburg 21 yard line. That run set up Stanton’s first score, a 21-yard run by Grant McArdle.
Whigham added touchdowns with runs of 21 and 38 yards, a 39 yard punt return and pass plays of 11 and 29 yards.

Whigham scored his fourth touchdown of the game with 3:58 still to go in the first half.
The Wildcats scored their only points of the game on a 3-yard fourth quarter run by Kaleb Kahue. Matt Quick added the point after on a kick.

Kahue rushed for 51 yards on the game. Other rush leaders for Hamburg were Jacob Raymond, 22; Klinton Hansen, 20, and Doug Raymond, 14.

Raymond passed for 139 yards on the game.

Hansen had 46 yards receiving, while Kahue had 45. Joel DeLong had 30 yards receiving and Colin Nahkunst had 18.

Kick off return leaders were DeLong, three for 38 and a long of 20; Hansen, three for 33 and a long of 19; and Kyle Sebek, three for 42 and a long of 16.

Kahue was the tackle leader for the Wildcats with 12. Raymond and Blake Finnell each had five.
Hamburg, 3-5, will wrap up the season at 7:30 p.m. Friday at East Mills.
